Our History

The story of SPYEAS began with a shared passion and a profound concern: the gradual erosion of Yoruba cultural identity in the face of modern influences. Recognizing the urgent need for action, The Rev’d Prof. Bolarinwa C. O., a visionary leader, founded SPYEAS on March 11th, 2024.

From humble beginnings in Baba Sango Village, Alabata Area, Ibadan, SPYEAS has grown into a dynamic organization dedicated to cultural revitalization. Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under Reg. Number 7591222, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and the highest standards of excellence.

Our journey is one of community, dedication and the love of our culture.

Founder's Message

Greetings, Omoluwabi,
It is with great pride and unwavering commitment that I welcome you to the Society for the Promotion of Yoruba Ethics, Arts, and Spirituality (SPYEAS). Our mission is not just to preserve the Yoruba heritage but to ensure that it thrives in today’s world and for generations to come. We live in a time when cultures are rapidly evolving, sometimes at the risk of losing their essence. At SPYEAS, we recognize the urgent need to restore, revitalize, and reposition Yoruba values, ethics, arts, and spirituality at the heart of our community. Through research, education, media engagement, and strategic initiatives, we are building a bridge between the wisdom of our ancestors and the demands of the modern world.
